A delegation from the Faculty of Industrial and Manufacturing Technology and Engineering (FTKIP), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), recently conducted an academic visit to the Department of Precision Engineering at the School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. The delegation was led by Professor Ir. Dr. Mohd Asyadi ‘Azam Mohd Abid (Dean of FTKIP), accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noraiham Mohamad (Deputy Dean Academic), Dr. Rahimah Abdul Hamid (Head of Engineering Department), and Dr. Sayed Kushairi, senior lecturer from the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology (FTKM), UTeM, who is currently undertaking his postdoctoral attachment at The University of Tokyo. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Amy Poh Ai Ling from the Department of Precision Engineering, where both parties exchanged views on potential academic and research initiatives between the two institutions.

During the visit, the delegation also met with Professor Tanaka Kenji to discuss FTKIP’s academic focus areas and potential future collaborations. The discussions were highly meaningful and reflected the strong interest from both institutions in strengthening international academic cooperation. UTeM greatly appreciates the warm hospitality and positive spirit of engagement extended throughout the visit and looks forward to exploring practical steps towards future collaborative initiatives.
