• Circular Economy in Asia: Education, Awareness, and the Road Ahead (Malaysia-Japan Dialogue)

As Asia continues to experience rapid economic growth, population expansion, and industrialisation, the challenge of resource depletion and waste management has grown ever more urgent. In this context, the concept of the circular economy, transforming waste and end-of-life materials into resources, and designing systems for continuous material use, offers a critical pathway toward sustainable development. The “Circular Economy in Asia” workshop seeks to bring together researchers, educators, students, and policy-makers from Japan, Malaysia, and beyond, under the aegis of MJAA, to explore the role of circular economy as both an environmental imperative and a driver of socio-economic innovation in the Asia context.

This session aims to connect students and young professionals with experienced mentors from both academia and industry. By sharing personal career journeys, lessons learned, and practical advice, the speakers will help participants gain clarity on career paths, professional development, and the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive environment.
